The Beloved’s Call project consisted of documenting, recording and researching various musical traditions and cultural movements of Pakistan for the purpose of developing a comprehensive book about the music of Pakistan, complementing it with digital media content a series of lectures in universities across Pakistan, raising awareness about the importance of Pakistan’s rich musical tradition and for the integration of Musicology and Cultural Studies in educational institutions. The project was initially supported by the United States Institute of Peace, and work on the book on music is ongoing.
